Burnout in Relation to Emotional Intelligence among Bank Personnel

The present study aims to investigate the relationship between burnout and emotional intelligence among bank personnel. For this purpose the sample of bank personnel with age range of 25 to 50+ years were selected from different banks of Haryana State. Burnout and emotional intelligence studied with the help of various psychological tests, i.e., Maslach Burnout Inventory (Maslach & Jackson, 1996) and Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Test (Schutte et al., 1998). Product moment method was used to see the relationships between burnout and emotional intelligence. Results reveal that emotional intelligence is significantly negative correlated with burnout. To see the significant mean difference, t-test was used. Result shows that high and low groups of burnout are significantly differ on emotional intelligence.
