The purpose of the study was to investigate coping in relation to boredom, fantasy engagement and fear of COVID19 in emerging adults during lockdown. The sample of the investigation comprises 100 participants (both males & females) of age ranging from 18 to 23 years. The measures of the research encompass Multi-Dimensional State Boredom Scale (Fahlman et al., 2013); Fantasy Engagement Scale (Plante et al., 2017); Fear of COVID-19 Scale (Ahorsu et al., 2020); and Coping Scale (adapted from Holahan & Moose, 1987). The results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between fear of COVID and coping (r= -0.288; p<0.01). Further, it was found that fear of COVID also significantly predicted Coping by accounting for 8% variance in it (β=-0.28, F=8.88; p<0.005). However, fantasy engagement and boredom were not found to have significant correlation with coping and no gender difference was found on coping, fear of COVID, boredom and fantasy engagement. The purpose of the study was to investigate coping in relation to boredom, fantasy engagement and fear of COVID19 in emerging adults during lockdown.
