Subscribe/Renew Journal
This review paper highlights the context within which business process outsourcing (BPO) has rapidly grown in India and the paper critically investigates the issues of the employment and well-being of employees in this sector. Through the study of relative review of literature, we analyze the nature of Indian BPO organization and the above issues. The analysis focuses on the nature and structure of work and employment in the Indian BPOs. Furthermore, the results highlight that many of the problems facing the Indian BPO industry relate directly to the management of human capital. Some of the challenges include high attrition or turnover rate which will lead to a shortage of employees at the junior level. But near about all of the employees related problems directly or indirectly correlated with the employee's well-being. Our study suggests the existence of formal, structured and rationalized HRM system for Indian BPOs, which can improve well-being to BPO employees, and the purpose of the present researcher was to address this issue.
