Eye Masking Technique to Promote Quality of Sleep among Security Guards

An interventional study was carried out to evaluate the effect of Eye Masking Technique to promote quality of sleep among security guards in a selected organization. Pre test post test control group design was adopted to conduct the study. Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index was administered to assess the quality of sleep. Purposive sample of 30 security guards were recruited and assigned randomly to experimental and control groups. Eye masking technique was administered to experimental group for a period of 21 days. A post test was conducted to assess the improvement in the quality of sleep. The result revealed that there is a significant improvement in the quality of sleep after intervention. Hence, eye masking technique can be utilized as a mechanism to promote the quality of sleep.
