To investigate any significant difference exists in self reported and actual functional status among males and females in Osteoarthritis individuals. The present study was a cross sectional study involving 286 subjects with non radiologic primary knee OA. After fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria, all the subjects were asked to fill KOOS questionnaire. Functional ability was assessed according to distance walked in 6-minute (6 MWT). Data collected was analyzed using un-related't' test along with 95% confidence interval. There was significant difference between males and females in all subscales of KOOS (p<0.01 for pain, symptom and QOL subscales; p<0.001 for ADL and sports/recreation subscales). Functional ability was significantly lower in females than males(p<0.05) In terms of Self reported measures as well as 6 MWT, women are comparatively more affected by the disease status than men.
