Application of Information Technology (IT) in Centennial Public Libraries in Vidarbha Region

Public libraries in India are facing challenges in coping with the changing environment in Library and Information Science field. Even Centennial public libraries whom have crossed more than 100 years of their age are also struggling for the same. Considering the importance of IT applications in public libraries, this paper examines the status of IT applications in centennial public libraries in Vidarbha region in Maharashtra. It also tries to substantiate the possible reasons behind the development gap in IT applications at these public libraries. In conclusion, the importance of IT applications and suggestions on its application are included.
