Obesity is a serious health problem and its prevalence has increased dramatically over the past 20 years. Obesity that begins in childhood may be more closely associated with severe obesity in adulthood than obesity that begins in adulthood. Therefore, prevention and early treatment interventions directed toward young children who are overweight or obese or at risk for later-life obesity. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effectiveness of SIM regarding prevention and management of obesity among mothers of school children. The study established that SIM was quite effective in improving the knowledge of mothers and changing the attitudes of them regarding childhood obesity
