Progression of Nephropathy in Age Related Diabetes
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Diabetes and aging are associated with reduced vascular endothelial function, 20 controls and 20 subjects with type 2 diabetes age 40 participated, a series of experiments were conducted to examine the interrelationship between age, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and endothelial renal function. This complication is first manifested as an increase in UAE [microalbuminuria] which progresses to over albuminuria and then to renal failure In subjects with diabetes age < 40 were more prone to nephropathy which progress to End Stage Renal Disease [ESRD]
