Diagnostic Study and Some Pathological Aspects of Parasites Associated with Appendicitis in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate

The study is intended to investigate the parasites that existenec and accompany appendicitis after its removal in the surgical department at al-Sadr Educational hospital and Al-Hakim General Hospital in Al- Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate for the period from October 2017 to April 2018. The results of the current study of the appendectomy samples showed that 45 parasite samples were infected with 128 parasites (35.15%), the highest percentage of enterobius vermicularis (28.8%), and Ascaris lumbricoidis (22.2%). Entamoeba histolytica (17.7%), Entamoeba coli (13.5%), Giardia lamblia (11.3%), Cryptosporidium (6.5%), and male infection The parasite appendicitis was 55.6%, while the female infection rate was 44.4% 6 years had the highest incidence of parasitic appendicitis (33.3%), and the lowest rate of infection was in the 65-56 age group (4.4%).
