Effect of Maitland Mobilization and Myofascial Release Technique in Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis

Methodology: 30 subjects were conveniently assigned to two study groups. Group A(n=15) subjects were treated with maitland mobilization where as group B(n=15) subjects were treated with myofascial release technique. Treatment was given for 14 consecutive days. The outcome was measured in terms of range of motion with goniometer and pain level on VAS scale. Maitland mobilization was performed for 30 glides in 4 bouts and myofascial release technique is repeated up to 10 times.
Results: There was no significant difference in range of motion and in pain level in paired test in between both the groups with (p=0.000) left side and right side (p=0.000), whereas in independent ttest there is no significant difference between both the groups.
Conclusion: There is no significant difference between both the groups in improvement of flexion range of motion and pain level in knee
