Autism - Help for Parents
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The word "autism" is becoming a common word in our society. Though much effort has been put into researching this condition, more work must be done in order to fully understand this disability. Debate remains as to the causes, and what can be done by way of treatment. As this debate continues within the medical community, those whom this condition affects the most; autistic children and their parents, continue to face day-to-day obstacles. A few of these obstacles include managing behavioral abnormalities, delayed socialization and speech, obtaining an accurate diagnosis and planning for treatments typically not covered by insurance. Parents are often left overwhelmed, confused and financially strapped, while their children struggle to express themselves and find their identity. How can all of this be managed and handled appropriately?
