Subscapularis a Hidden Culprit in Shoulder Pain: A Case Report

The Purpose of This Study was to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Subscapularis Release in a Patient with Shoulder Pain. a 50 Year Old Male Patient (mr.s.g.) who was Diagnosed of having Left Sided Frozen Shoulder was Referred to Physiotherapy Department. the Patient had Complains of Pain and Difficulty in Shoulder Movement since Five Months. he Experienced Severe Pain (8.3/10 on Visual Analogue Scale) on Active Left Shoulder External Rotation and the Range of his Active External Rotation was 38 Degree. on Physical Examination, Subscapularis Tenderness was Found. Hence, an Attempt was Done to Find out an Immediate Effectiveness of Subscapularis Release on Intensity of Pain and Active Range of External Rotation. Subscapularis Release was Done for Seven Minutes. we Found that there was a Significant Improvement in the Range of Active External Rotation from 38 to 52 Degree and Decrease in the Intensity of Pain from 8.3/10 to 6.5/10 Immediately after the Subscapularis Release.
