Knee osteoarthritis is a common problem among elderly population caused by degenerative changes around knee. The degenerative changes involves a combination of mechanical, cellular and biochemical processes resulting in pain, muscle dysfunction, abnormal stress loading and sensorimotor dysfunctions affecting neuromusculoskeletal integrity. Although there are number of treatments techniques available but they lack specific guidelines. Hence, the present article aimed at understanding the Neurophysiological basis of pain&physical dysfunction to formulate Multi-Joint Coupling Intervention Strategy that would serve as an important guiding and therapeutic tool for health care practitioners in improving functional disability status of patients with early knee osteoarthritis.
