Hip Rotation MWM for Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction: A Case Report
Subscribe/Renew Journal
This case report describes the treatment of a patient who had symptoms and signs suggestive of sacroiliac joint dysfunction. Hip rotation asymmetry has been found to be associated with low back pain of sacroiliac origin. The manual therapy techniques used for correcting the dysfunction focus on mobilizing the joint itself, but this case report presents the results of Mulligan's mobilization with movement technique for hip rotation being used for sacroiliac joint dysfunction. This case report suggests that asymmetrical hip rotation may contribute to sacroiliac component of back pain and hip rotation technique can be successfully used to decrease the pain and activity limitation imposed by it.
