To Study the Relation between Adjustment Problems and Emotional Intelligence among College Students: Role of Gender Differences

The current study explored the relationship between adjustment problems and emotional intelligence among college students. The sample comprised of 50 females and 50 males, from colleges in and around Patiala district (Punjab). Adjustment problems of students were measured using Bell's Adjustment Inventory and Emotional Intelligence by Emotional Quotient Test. The results indicated a negative relationship between adjustment problems and emotional intelligence. Females were more competent in dealing with daily hassles of life as compared to males. In addition to this, females managed their emotions in more competent manner as compared to their counterparts.
