A Cross-Cultural Study of Coping Strategies of Doctors Involved in Leisure Activities
Subscribe/Renew Journal
This study examined the effect of leisure and culture on coping strategies adopted by doctors in Goa and Mumbai. The sample comprised of 66 Goan doctors and 66 Mumbai doctors (n=132). Purposive sampling was used to select the sample. Survey design was used. Means and standard deviations were reported. The results of the two-way ANOVA revealed that leisure and culture does not affect the coping strategies (emotion focused coping/problem focused coping/social support coping) of doctors in Goa and Mumbai. Further, no interaction effect was found between leisure and culture for any of the coping strategies. The implications of the study are also discussed.
