Technical Skills Fulfilment of B.Tech., Printing Technology Student to Meet Industrial Requirements

Printing has been one of the major inventions in the history of mankind. Printing has travelled a long way and we are living in an era, in which everything needs printing and everything is needed to be packed. Printing industry is growing with an exponential rate & requires skilled manpower. Objective of this paper is to find out manpower skills printing industries are seeking in B. Tech. Printing Technology students to bridge the gap between skills, B. Tech. Printing institution are producing and the skills required in printing organizations. A survey of 25 printing companies was carried out. The results indicated that practical knowledge of colour separation, color management, measuring the color CIE & LAB value, computer skills, basic knowledge of all process are must for B. Tech. students to meet industrial requirements.
