Emerging Role of Digital Libraries in Elevating E-Leaming Endeavours in Academic Institutions

Emergence of information communication technology in all sectors has been changed the whole society. The primary objective of library is to cater to the informational requirements of its stakeholders in most efficient way. The digital library has shown its impact on the library services and so as the demand and quality of library services. The present paper highlights the concept, definition, characteristics and advantages of digital library. Concept, definition, levels, advantages&disadvantages of e-learning are explained. E-Learning is a valuable tool for enabling today's work forces to rapidly gain and refresh the skills and expertise they need to make businesses more competitive. At its most essential, e-learning is electronic-enabled learning, deployed across the organisations networks. It breaks the one size- fits-all training syndromes of the past by enabling "anytime, anywhere" learning tailored toward individual objectives. Role of digital libraries in enriching e-learning activities in academic institutions has also been discussed.
