Region Based Text Recognition in Natural Scene Images:A Review

Text recognition is a field of detecting text from digital images and produces useful information for different applications. In this paper a detailed review on existing methods performing the text recognition in natural scene images is presented. This area inspired a good interest for researchers, who have already done phenomenal work in this field, to conquer the new research challenges. The main focus of this review is on region based methods. Various advantages and shortcomings of these methods are also discussed in this paper The main aim of this paper is to serve the purpose of good reference in the areas of scene text detection and recognition.
