An Advanced Routing Model with Network Splitting Strategy for Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETS)
Subscribe/Renew Journal
VANETs are vehicular ad hoc networks are specifically used to guarantee the road safety by facilitating the communication among road side units such as cars, scooters and vehicles, etc. In VANETs, data cannot be transmitted directly from one vehicle to another vehicle. In this case, a relay node is used to transmit the data. Thus, a vehicle has to select a nearer relay node to send data from one to another. Various authors has developed different mechanism for relay node selection. After having a review to the these traditional techniques, it is observed under this work that the traditional techniques suffers from issue of lowest packet delivery ratio. Thus this study introduces a novel approach for relay node selection in VANETs by using the Particle Swarm Optimization technique. The simulated results proves that the PDR, end-to-end delay and bop counts of proposed work is much efficient than the traditional FD, EPD and BDSC technique.
