Study the Strength of Latex Modified Concrete with Rubber Crumb by Experimental Investigation
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The use of accumulated waste mater in third world countries is still in its early phase. It will take courage for contractors and other in the construction industry to recycle selected type of waste materials in the concrete mix. This paper is on the concrete mix, in which rubber crumb and latex is mixed in certain proportion. Rubber crumb is a solid waste which is a pollutant to environment, injurious to human health and it is difficult to decompose also. Rubber crumb used in the recycling rubber peace obtain from tires, which have good elastic properties. Latex (styrene butadiene polymer), which recesses the water percentages which increase the compressive strength. In this research work partial fine aggregate is replace by rubber crumb and partial water by latex. The objective is to study the behavior of this unique mix concrete for compressive strength and flexure and compare it with Portland cement. In this work RC is replace fine aggregate by 5%, 10% and 15% with the latex replacing the water content by 10%, 15% and 20%.
