- Influence of Phormidium tenue on Mangrove Seedlings

Of the seven species of cyanobacteria isolated from the mangrove sediments, Phormidium tenue exhibited a high ability of fixing nitrogen and hence, this species was tested as biofertilizer to mangrove seedlings of Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh., Ceriops decandra (Griff.) Ding Hou and Aegiceras corniculatum (L.) Blanco. In A. marina, the treatment exhibited higher total biomass by 54.14%, no. of leaves by 48.19% and plant height by 36.83% than in control. In C. decandra, the cyanobacterial treatment enhanced the fresh weight of leaves by 83.12 %. In A. corniculatum, the treatment increased the plant height growth by 10.93 %. Thus the marine cyanobacterium, P. tenue has potential for a biofertilizer to mangroves.

Effect of growth promoting substances on ischolar_maining of Rhizophora apiculata hypocotyl was studied in the intertidal areas of the Vellar estuary of Porto Novo marine environment. IBA and NAA were found promotory at lower concentrations less than 6 ppm and Keradix at higher concentration above 1 %. NAA at 2 ppm in 6 hours of treatment and Keradix at 1% in 3 hours of treatment, induced maximum ischolar_maining characteristics and the treated hypocotyls easily got adapted to the natural conditions.- Dangerous Pest on Nursery Seedlings of Rhizophora

This is the study aimed to standardize a reproducible regenerative protocol for Pedalium murex Linn from coastal region. For mass propagation of this medicinally important species ischolar_main explants have been inoculated on MS basal medium fortified with different auxin and cytokinin. The maximum (0.92g) callus biomass was observed from 3.0 mg/l of NAA and multiple shoots observed from KIN+ BAP (0.5+2.5mg/l). Among the total auxins tried 2.5 mg/l of IBA showed the better ischolar_maining efficiency. In this research the newly raised Pedalium murex showed the 90% survival and better acclimatization in the field. This study will be helpful to conserve the species of coastal region from the natural disaster in future.Keywords

In the present study, the pre-treatment of rats with Amorphophallus paeoniifolius. Alcoholic and aqueous extracts protected the animals against CCl4 induced hepatotoxicity. The treatment significantly reduced the serum GOT, GPT, ALP, oxidation of GSH, GST levels and liver weight. The hepatoprotective nature of aqueous and alcoholic extracts of this plant against CCl4 induced hepatic oxidative stress may be attributed to the presence of phenolic compounds. Further this was evidenced by free radical scavenging activity, reduced lipid peroxidation, reduced glutathione (GSH) radical scavenging activity and nitric oxide scavenging activity by both extracts of Amorphophallus paeonifolius. The present study reveals that Amorphophallus paeoniifolius possesses a hepatoprotective action.Keywords

Mangrove forests of India are globally unique with the highest record of biodiversity, gifted with the mangrove genetic paradise at Bhitarkanika, and the globally threatened wildlife species in the Sundarbans. The Sundarbans of India and Bangladesh is the only largest mangrove forest in the world colonized by the Royal Bengal Tigers. Mangroves are dense and floristically diverse along the east coast of India and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. They are largely distributed in the high energy tidal coast of two extreme conditions: (i) humid and wet in Sundarbans with rich bio-diversity, and (ii) arid and dry in Gujarat with low biodiversity. Despite increasing pressures, the mangrove cover in India increases annually at the rate of 1.2%, as against the global mangrove cover that disappears at 0.66%. However, India has a large track of sparse mangrove stand. This article discusses the present status of mangrove forests, conservation and management strategies being followed successfully in India, and recommends the future directions for mangrove restoration, improvisation of sparse stands, participatory management, and quality publications on mangrove research.Keywords

This paper deals with three endemic species occurring in Tamil Nadu, viz. Acacia bolei R.P. Subhedar, A. pseudowightii Thoth. and A. tanjorensis Ragup. & al., all three originally recorded from coasts. As the irst species has been declared extinct, detailed accounts with regard to accepted names, synonymy and characteristic features of the remaining two species are provided and discussed in detail. Acacia minutifolia Ragup. & al., replaced by A. pseudowightii Thoth., is now treated conspeci ic with Vachellia eburnea (L.f.) P.J.H. Hurter & Mabb., distributed in Indian Subcontinent extending to Iran & Oman. Senegalia tanjorensis (Ragup. & al.) Kottaimuthu is found closely related with S. mellifera (Vahl) L.A. Silva & J Freitas subsp. mellifera and both are likely to be merged with further studies. The importance of Version of Record in publications is also highlighted using the names Senegalia tanjorensis (Ragup. & al.) A.S. Deshpande & Maslin (2019) Vs Senegalia tanjorensis (Ragup & al.) Kottaimuthu (2019). All these three taxa are added here to the strand lora of India.Keywords

The search for patentability is a critical element in the patent process, and failure to find a certain relevant patent may result in costly legal consequences. This paper aims to review the studies that have been conducted in result to improve the significance efficacy of patent information retrieval, which is focused on creating techniques and methods for retrieving patent documents in response to a specific user query. The prior-art search is a crucial step in the patent retrieval process, the choice of pertinent search terms is essential to the task’s success. In this review, we develop prior-art queries derived from query patents using query expansion to pseudo relevance feedback in result of increase the retrievability of patents. The review of this literature lists numerous studies that have been done to enhance current information retrieval methods or use conventional methods at different phases of the patent retrieval task in order to achieve better results in the task. This research focuses solely on the literature on patent text and image retrieval. Given the different methods and frameworks available, as well as their limitations, there is a lot of room for further research in the field of patent retrieval techniques.Keywords
