Present investigation deals with standardization of protocol for mass Dendrocalamus strictus, through somatic embryogenesis from nodal sprout cultures. Different media supplements for the induction, development and germination of somatic embryos were studied to achieve an efficient regeneration protocol from small segments (0.5-1.0 cm) of nodal sprouts of D. strictus. For callus induction, nodal sprouts were cultured on MS medium supplemented with various concentration of 2,4-D alone or in combination with other media additives and maximum callus induction occurred on MS medium supplemented with 2,4-D at 6 mg/l. Maximum somatic embryogenesis (66.67%) was observed when callus was transferred on MS medium supplemented with a combination of 2,4-D (1 mg/l), KN (2 mg/l) and NAA (1 mg/l). The induced somatic embryos were shifted to MS medium with different concentrations of sucrose with or without activated charcoal or polyethylene glycol for somatic embryo germination. Maximum somatic embryo germination (70.83%) was noticed on MS medium enriched with 7% sucrose. The plantlets so formed were acclimatized and successfully transferred to the soil.Keywords

In prosthodontic treatment plan, decisions must be made regarding oral tissue rehabilitation and other necessary pre-prosthetic measures. The rehabilitation prostheses are very useful devices in the field of prosthodontics. It is essential that the mouth should be in an optimal state of health prior to commencing prosthetic treatment and failure to achieve this may produce an unsatisfactory treatment result. Depending on a variety of situations, the dentist may find it necessary to modify the patient's existing dentures or, occasionally, to construct a special appliance. This article deals with several preliminary (non-definitive) treatment options available along with a brief account of their rationale.Keywords

A patient with malunited fracture of mandible require preprosthic reconstructive surgery followed by implant-assisted overdentures. In this case report, conventional complete dentures were fabricated for the patient as he refused any invasive treatment. The fabrication procedure of the denture was carefully modified according to anatomical and functional situation of the patient to achieve adequate retention and stability. Traditional materials utilized for dental applications have been selected based on their mechanical properties and ability to remain inert in vivo; this selection process has provided materials that satifisfy physiological loading conditions but do not duplicate the mechanical, chemical, and architectural properties of bone. The less than optimal surface properties of conventional materials have resulted in clinical complications that necessitate surgical removal of many such failed bone implants due to insufficient bonding to juxtaposed bone. Due to unique surface and mechanical properties, as well as the ability to simulate the three-dimensional architecture of physiological bone, one possible consideration for the next generation of orthopedic and dental implants with improved efficacy are nanophase materials.Keywords

The main approaches for the future broadband, in both mobile and fixed cellular networks are to accommodate more users by reducing cell size and also to operate in mili-meter wave frequency bands. A key to success in the market is by developing a cost-effective Base Station. Therefore for this requirement, Radio-over-fiber technology is a promising solution. RoF modulates the mm wave over an optical carrier for distribution in a fiber network. Due to the following characteristics, fibers are very attractive for RoF systems: immune to EMI, very high bandwidth, light weight, low loss as well as cost, small cross section, and high flexibility.

Pain after thoracotomy is probably the most severe pain experienced by the patient as incision penetrate several layers of muscle tissue, neurovascular bundles and other structures of the thoracic region. It may be sharp, stabbing, constant shooting neuropathic pain which can be acute (within 30 days of thoracotomy) or chronic (2 to 6 months after thoracotomy). Because of pain, there is shallow breathing and inadequate coughing leading to various types of pulmonary function impairment and complications like retention of secretions, atelectasis, hypoxemia, hypercarbia, respiratory failure and increased chances of re-intubation. Pain also leads to longer stay in the intensive care unit and a delayed mobilization of the patient which ultimately causes increased morbidity and mortality. The chances of deep vein thrombosis are also increased because of delayed mobilization. Sometimes patient may experience post thoracotomy pain syndrome along with changes in psychological behaviour like depression. So management of pain relief is very essential to resume normal activities as soon as possible. This will also lead to increased overall patient’s satisfaction. In this article we have highlighted various causes of pain in thoracotomy, its pathophysiology and modalities to relieve pain. This review article aims to highlight all the current practices and modalities so as to manage post-operative pain of thoracotomy in a better manner.

Irrational beliefs are attitudes and values which people hold without any objective evidence. Such thoughts typically clutter the minds of people with feelings of resentment and distaste which creates a lot of problems in a person's life. Irrational beliefs effect the functioning of an individual by lowering the skills of social and emotional competence.Although the concept of irrational beliefs has received extensive attention, yet the concept needs to be addressed covering varied aspects. The present research aimed to examine the relationship of irrational beliefs with social emotional skills. For this purpose, Shortened General Attitude and Belief Scale (SCABS) by Lindner, Kirk by,Wertheim,and Birch(1999)and Social Skills Inventory by Riggio and Carney (2003) were administered on 300 (150 females and 150 males) participants. The correlation coefficient was used to analyze the data. Findings of the present study revealed significant negative correlation of irrational beliefs with social-emotional skills. Implications of the finding shave been discussed.Keywords

One of the key design issues in ad hoc networks is the development of rollback recovery model for providing fault-tolerance in MANET. Because the potential problem of MANET is limited energy, probability of fault occurrences is more. Hence, checkpointing is done at trusted nodes when faults are encountered, for successful rollback to the last saved state. This makes trust a vital factor to be determined. The proposed algorithm aims to reduce the rollback recovery time by retrieving the checkpoint data through trusted nodes. Dynamic node recovery technique unfolds the impact of cluster trust on the count variable maintained by each node. This variable is so maintained, to do the checkpointing process when a definite threshold is reached. Such an attack prone node saves its data at the nearest trusted cluster head. Again, based on opinion dynamics, trust of the host cluster markedly influences the trust of the visitor node. Moreover, genetic algorithms are employed to search best optimal recovery path. Performance analysis depicts remarkable results produced by the proposed algorithm.Keywords

A descriptive study was conducted on staff nurses of selected hospitals of Ludhiana, Punjab, to assess factors intend to brain drain among nurses. Material and Methods: Tool consisted of two parts; demographic data and rating scale to assess factors intend to brain drain among nurses which included the four factors i.e. professional factors, economical factors, personal factors and psychological factors. Pilot study was conducted to ensure the reliability and feasibility of the study. The study was conducted on 100 staff nurses of selected private hospitals of district Ludhiana, Punjab. Convenient sampling technique was used to collect data. Results: 98% of staff nurses had more contributing factors intend to brain drain whereas only 2% of staff nurses had less contributing factors intend to brain drain. The relationship of brain drain with contributing factors showed that professional factor, economical factor and personal factors were more contributing among 95% of staff nurses and less contributing among very few i.e. 5% of staff nurses while the psychological factor was more contributing to brain drain among 68% of nurses and less contributing in 32% of staff nurses. Statistically significant relationship was found in factor score with staff nurses who had previously visited abroad at p< 0.05 level of significance. Statistically significant association was found in contributing factors with having children, type of family and reason for migration. Conclusion: The study concluded that professional factors, economical factors, personal factors and psychological factors were contributing factors intend to brain drain among staff nurses. Therefore, it is recommended that government need to demonstrate a commitment to the needs of the nurses and a firm recognition of the value of nursing care and nursing profession.Keywords

In today's world ,adolescence is a time of changes, exploration, and youth searching along with the time of worry and problems. The emotional intelligence represents a capacity of control and self-control over stress and negative emotions. Emotional intelligence is a potential risk factor in behavioral problems in adolescence years and the lack of balanced development of emotional intelligence in adolescents could be associated with a variety of internalizing and externalizing problem behavior. Beliefs play an essential role in human beings' life. Irrational beliefs are unrealistic reasoning process by which external events are interpreted and through which emotional distress is mediated. The effects of irrational beliefs are widespread, i.e., it is not limited to academic environment but spreads to other areas viz., social and personal. REBT (rational emotive behavior therapy) is being considered a comprehensive intervention that incorporates cognitive restructuring with emotions and behavioral application & recently introduced into classroom setting with adolescents. Rational emotive education (REE) is a preventive interventional mental health program through which children and adolescents can learn positive mental health concepts & social emotional skills. Rational emotive approaches aim at making irrational beliefs into rational ones, increasing the social emotional skills and enhancing self-esteem of adolescents. The inclusion of the focus on emotional intelligence as part of curriculum could lead to a variety of positive personal, social and societal outcomes. The present paper, highlighting the affective and emotional factors, focuses on the rational emotive approaches applied particularly to the problems of adolescents. The research on REE would help the policy makers and counselors to prepare appropriate counselling programs and workshops which will provide the preventive & intervention strategies in order to help adolescents reduce their irrational beliefs.Keywords

Planet Earth is facing challenge of Environment degradation which could be checked by usage of Green technology in order to achieve Energy Conservation. Usage of Renewable energy resources would meet energy demand without compromising the need of future generation and would replace conventional fuels. Adoption of decentralized approach such as solar thermal technology based products like Solar Water Heating System (SWHS). MNRE had introduced SWHS scheme under National Solar Mission as the economic benefits of the utilization of SWHS in both domestic and industrial sectors can lead to savings in fuel costs for water heating and by reducing environmental issues.The main objective of paper is to explore the development of SWHS in Punjab state installed under subsidy provided by State Nodal Agency of Punjab i.e. Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA). This paper had examined the assessment of role played by PEDA in process and functioning of installation and release of subsidies for SWHS and also analyzed the perspective of beneficiaries towards use of SWHS from three districts of Punjab.
The analytical study showed that the installation of SWHS has saved energy in providing hot water supply in domestic and commercial areas. The results of study highlighted that there is lack of maintenance provision by private companies. There is need to monitor Private companies, initiate feedback mechanism, provide more government rebates and benefits which will help the small scale manufacturers to flourish more by maintaining quality assurance.

Mental health is an integral and important component of health expressing a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities that one can cope with mental stressors of life, can work productively in order to achieve success and is able to make contribution to his or her community. Gender being a social imputation of sex-appropriate role behavior has a significant impact on the exposure of individual to mental health risks. Women are integral to all aspects of society and promoting women's mental health is an essential part of their overall health. Mental health conditions occur more often in women and can play a significant role in the status of women's overall health. Mental health of women is a serious issue and their psychological well-being becomes a cause for great concern. Exposure to gender-specific risk factors such as gender based violence, socio-economic disparity, inequitable distribution of resources, subordinate social status and unremitting responsibilities for the care of others increase the probability of occurrence of mental health problems among women. The present paper addresses the mental health problems of women and provides the suggestions for improving the overall well-being of women. Empowering women in social, political, and economic aspects is essential which can go a long way in erasing their feeling of victimization and enhancing their self-esteem, thus paving the way for better mental health.Keywords

The introduction of a wide array of financial instruments, alongside increased complexity has rendered it crucial for financially vulnerable groups like women to understand the real premises on which they are centered as opposed to being simply aware of them. The study using statistical tools including Descriptives, ANOVA, Chi-Square, Factor analysis conducted during October 2020 - January 2021 assessed financial literacy levels among salaried women in Ludhiana City and its effect on financial behaviour, found the average financial literacy score to be 68%, being higher than OECD financial literacy survey score of 60.48%. Additionally, financial literacy had significant effect on respondents’ subsequent financial behaviour.Keywords

People's reaction to situations or event is affected by perceptions and their cognitive evaluation of those situations. The purpose of this research is to obtain the relationship of depression with attribution styles in the context of the war on Afghan youth. This research is descriptive and correlation study. 250 youth (male & female) in (high school, bachelor's, Master's, & Ph.D. degrees). from age (18-30) years old, who live in Afghanistan during the war and they completed Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and Attributional Style Questionnaire (ASQ). The correlation analysis finding shows that there was a negative correlation between depression and attribution effort failure, attribution mood failure, attribution ability success, and attribution effort success. Further, the result shows that depression has a significant positive correlation with attribution ability failure and attribution mood success.Keywords

Education is a powerful tool that has the potential to improve the social and economic condition of a person in a developing country like India. The greatest challenge for the Government is the accomplishment of quality education in inclusive and accessible arrangements for persons with disabilities. The teaching techniques adopted in traditional classrooms aren't usually designed to cater to the need of visually impaired students. Visually impaired students are usually held back from pursuing STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) education and are encouraged to take up humanities and commerce. The lack of resources is mostly responsible for holding back visually impaired students from pursuing Science along with other factors such as the incompetence and attitude of the facilitators. In this work, an inclusive science laboratory for visually impaired students is envisaged using assistive technology that can facilitate them in performing lab experiments. Assistive technology plays a crucial role in the shift of the education system for visually impaired students to an inclusive model. Low cost, easy to use and store, hardware modules with talkable features has been designed to measure temperature, time, to detect contrast and color using Arduino UNO. With the help of these modules, a visually impaired student can be assisted to perform laboratory experiments effortlessly, which otherwise is not made accessible to them.Keywords
