Abstract
Recent developments in permanent magnet materials, power electronics and modern control technologies have significantly influenced the wide-spread use of BLDC motor drives. Brushless dc motors are now, widely used in many applications such as servo drives, computer peripheral equipments and electric vehicles due to their high power density, high efficiency, compact size and easier control. Due to absence of commutator and brushes, BLDC motors have several advantages compared to conventional DC motor. The design of current and speed controllers for permanent magnet brushless DC (PMBLDC) motor drive remains to large extent a mystery in the motor drives field. Since speed is one of the most important parameter in industries for various applications, it is proposed to carry out the different speed control techniques using various conventional and non-conventional methods (Artificial Intelligence) in BLDC motor under different operating conditions in MATLAB\SIMULINK and Real time Hardware implementation using DSP controller. The validity of the proposed work is to be verified through both simulation and experimental set-up.
