This work deals with the phytogeographical affinities of the fIora of North-east Rajasthan. The area of study is Alwar district. It has been suggested that the fIora of Rajasthan is Perso-Arabic in origin and that Rajasthan is probably a peninsular area. The statistical data do not support Drude's view.- Notes on the Flora of Alwar - Northeast Rajasthan

Statistico-Biological notes on the flora of Alwar comprises the subject of this investigation. Location, topography and environmental complex affecting the vegetation is outlined. Characteristic plants of different habitats have been given. 444 indigenous plants belonging to 292 genera and 84 families have been discussed. The data show a great poverty of monacots and a very poor proportion of species to genera. A comparative study reveals that though this area resembles other investigated areas of Eastern and Western Rajasthan yet it is more complex and approaches that of Mount Abu-the highest peak of Aravalli ranges.- Contribution to the Flora of Rajasthan from Udaipur
