Anogeissus latifolia and Terminalia tomentosa are commonly lopped for leaf fodder in Shiwalik hill region of Haryana. During present study the leaf fodder and fuelwood yields of these two tree species were measured and yield tables were prepared on using suitable regression equations. Leaf fodder yield was more in T. tomentosa while fuel wood yield was more in A. latifolia.- Biomass Status of Mixed Dry Deciduous Forest of Shiwalik Hills in Haryana

Biomass structure of two sites (biotically disturbed BD and un-distubed UD) was studied during the present study. Total basal area was 7.9 m2/ha in BD site and 9.7m2/ha in UD site. Three important tree species Anogeissus latifolia, Acacia catechu and Terminalia tomentosa accounted 88% in BD area and 66% in UD area, of total tree density. Total above ground tree biomass was 22.05 t/has in BD area and 31.19 t/ha in UD area. Total above ground tree biomass of two sites differ significantly (P0.0l). In present study it is observed that the undisturbed condition bearing much higher biomass and tree diversity than that of the biotically disturbed.- Effect of Weeding on Production of Eulaliopsis binata in Shiwalik Hill Forest

This paper contains observations on effect of weeding on Bhabar grass (Eulaliopsis binata) growing in Shiwalik hill forests naturally. Maximum yield was obtained in three times weeded areas during the growth period (10.6 qtl/ha). The grass yield was found significantly different in weeded and unweeded areas reflecting beneficial effect of weeding in yield of economic grass E. binata.- Growth Performance of Arundo donax (Reed Grass) under Difficult site Conditions of Doon Valley for Erosion Control
