Reconstruction of Craniofacial Image Using GC1 Cubic Ball Curves

Craniofacial fractures are a challenge to diagnose and treat both for the radiologist and treating surgeon. The craniofacial reconstruction is aimed to construct a model of the defect or deformity and to facilitate the treating physician. This manuscript proposes the image reconstruction of craniofacial fracture using GC1 rational cubic Ball curve with three free parameters. The free parameters are optimized with the help of genetic algorithm. Our emphasis is placed on the accuracy and smoothness of the reconstructed images. Some results will be presented.
