Background/Objectives: Investments can be seen as an indicator of the socio-economic development of a region. It is important to prevent the disparity between the achieved level of investment in the economy and the level that ensures sustainable development of the region. This purpose can be achieved by providing an adequate quantitative assessment of the investment activity in the region. Methods: The article presents a comparative analysis of the definitions and approaches to determining the investment activity and reveal sits correlation with the basic categories of investment analysis. Methods of correlation and regression analysis were used to rank the main factors of investment activity. Findings: The authors defined and proposed the methodology for investment activity assessment in a region which allows estimating the rate of investments depending on various factors. Applications/Improvements: The developed methodology can be used as an auxiliary tool for the development of the investment policy and improvement of the investment climate in a region.
