Michael, Torn between Love and Power: A Storytelling Architecture in the Godfather

Objectives: This paper aim to track down the viewers’ cognitive emotion of how they are interacting with the story of The Godfather. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Human minds have cognitive and emotional flows while plots, characters, and action-ideas are intertwined in the story of the film. This paper especially focused on the analysis of characters’ networks with statistical data figures in order to schematize the storytelling architecture. Findings: This paper explores how and why Michael has strongly motivated to constitutionalize a great legitimized cooperative business organization, after he involved in his family mafia organization. This paper examines several figure data to know that Michael’s desire for power is torn between two lovers: his father Vito Corleone and his wife Kay. Storytelling architecture with figure and graph analysis will prove that Michael seeks a true power in the social hierarchs of the USA to protect his family with love. Improvements/ Applications: In the film of The Godfather, Michael has been in a power achieving process and has produced a Legitimized Mafia Organization under the sacrifice of love with Vito and Kay.
