Objective: This paper discusses the concept of mobile learning (m-learning), its benefits, critical factors driving m-learning adoption, challenges of adoption and future of m-learning. Methods: This research proposes a framework for a longitudinal study on Jordanian universities combined with interviews based on a comprehensive approach of reviewing literature in m-learning. Findings: The research recommends that m-learning is a promising field that will revolutionize the learning process all over the globe however many issues are yet to be investigated. Originality: This research is one of the few studies to apply longitudinal approach to explore the use of m-learning in universities of a developing country.
