Credit Rating:Process and Practice in India

The present paper expresses corporate attitude by Credit Rating information Services of India, (CRISIL), Investment information & Credit Rating Agency (ICRA), Credit Analysis and Research Ltd. (CARE), SMERA (the first credit rating agency in India and ONICRA (which is especially for individual, small and medium enterprises). It expresses how ICRA, CARE and CRISIL work and give rating to the different companies so that the rating will be helpful for the issuers or investors. Rating can be negative or positive and its meaning. The objective of this lesson is to apprise the readers about the concept, meaning, types, forms, and process of credit rating in context of Indian situation.
