Relationship Between Perceived Ethical Climate and Organizational Commitment in the IT Sector

Top performing employees want to work for organizations that provide opportunities that utilize their potentials/abilities fully. The purpose of the present paper is to examine the relationship between various dimensions of Perceived Ethical climate and organizational commitment among employees working in the IT sector. 80 employees provided their responses on ethical climate and organizational commitment. The results revealed that perceived ethical climate has a significant relationship with organizational commitment. It is evident from the results that caring turned out to be the most significant contributor in relation to organizational commitment. Employees show more commitment towards their organization when they work in an environment where employees are sincerely interested in the well being of each other. The ethical climate is critical to the IT sector as it impacts employee's performance and commitment. It can be suggested that organizations can increase commitment by influencing an organization's ethical climate.
