Exploring Internet and Mobile Usage among Students in Navsari: A Statistical Approach

The use of mobile technologies is becoming more widespread. The cell phone has significantly changed our way of life, reorganized connectivity, and improved it. Mobile technology has influenced students. In the past two decades, many innovations have been developed in mobile technologies and have even become an addiction for people of all ages. The current study has been carried out to explore the use of Internet and mobile device dependency among students in Navsari, Gujarat. This study was conducted using a questionnaire from 100 students (respondents) from different colleges. The descriptive statistical analysis and test of significance have been computed to study the distribution of mobile phone and internet uses among the gender, qualification and area of living of the student. The study revealed that the internet plays a prominent role among students. It was also observed that most students use their mobile phones for making calls and the Internet for social networking.
