A Low-Cost Novel Converter Topology to Improve Speed Range of Spindle Brushless DC Motor
Subscribe/Renew Journal
In different applications like Hard Disk Drives (HDD), air compressors BLDC motors needs to operate with high speed for fast data accessing. In this paper a new electronic commutating converter is designed, which gives high voltage to each phase winding of the BLDC motor to increase speed of the motor. By operating the motor in Bipolar starting and Unipolar running to give high torque in the starting time and high speed at the running time. The MatLab based Motor model and inverter model are developed to verify the proposed converter topology. The simulation results have been discussed here.
