Foreign Direct Investment in India:A Macroeconomic Review

India’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has become a focal point of study, as the leading economies of the World, including the United States, China, and the countries of the European Union have started looking inward. Protectionism is gradually replacing facets of Globalization and Free movement of resources. Even in the current times of Global uncertainty, India continues to attract an increasing proportion of World FDI. Considerable reforms have been by the government for creating ease of doing business and attracting multinationals through Make in India initiative. These developments pose significant opportunities and challenges for India’s inward FDI. The paper is a modest attempt to study India’s inward FDI in terms of volume, source, sector, and regional destination in India.
