Subscribe/Renew Journal
This empirical research has investigated the relationship between the Spiritual Quotient of the employees and their personal competence and further the relationship of personal competence of employees with their job satisfaction. In addition to these direct relationships, the mediating effect of the personal competence of employees on the relationship between the Spiritual Quotient of the employees and their job satisfaction has also been explored. The primary Data collected through 376 commercial bank employees in the state of Punjab (India) has been analysed through regression and correlation analysis techniques. The results have proved that there is not only positive but a significant relationship between spiritual quotient of employees and all the seven indicators of personal competence i.e. interpersonal skills, decision making, adaptability, knowledge&skill, accountability, leadership skills and communication. The personal competence of employees further has a significant and positive relationship with their level of job satisfaction. Three indicators of personal competence i.e. interpersonal skills, decision making and adaptability have a positive and very strong correlation with Spiritual Quotient of employees whereas rest four have a positive, significant but moderate correlation with Spiritual Quotient of employees. The findings provide adequate support for the spiritual orientation of the employees as this will make the employees more competent and more satisfied with their jobs.
