Impact Study of Blended Learning on Functional Effectiveness Factor of Managerial Effectiveness

Over the past few decades, Information Technology has brought remarkable changes to almost all business functions and managerial activities. Due to globalization and growing competition, business organizations are using innovative technologies and learning processes to achieve competitive advantage. Blended learning is an approach that combines effectiveness and socialization opportunities of the classroom with the technologically enhanced active learning possibilities of the online environment. Blended learning can be used for enhancing effectiveness of managers. Managerial effectiveness is a manager's ability to achieve desired results, by applying his skills and abilities.

The present study is based on functional effectiveness factor of managerial effectiveness. Functional effectiveness means a manager is able to implement all managerial functions effectively viz. planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, etc. The paper analyses impact of blended learning on functional effectiveness factor of managerial effectiveness, with reference to managers of Banking and Information Technology Sectors. For this purpose, a survey was carried out using standardized managerial effectiveness scale. Results of the study showed that female managers working in Banking Sector having experience less than or equal to five years are more effective managers in terms of impact of blended learning on functional effectiveness factor of managerial effectiveness.
