Subscribe/Renew Journal
Business today is in a constantly changing and evolving world. To keep pace with the competition and drive growth in a sustainable and profitable manner, it is imperative that the organisations adopt world class manufacturing. One major pillar of world class manufacturing is Total Productive Maintenance or TPM(Ahuja and Khamba, 2007).Through this paper we aim to study the factors that affect the successful implementation of TPM in an organisation.Wehave derived relationships among the various factors using the ISM modeling approach and topped it off by applying MICMAC analysis on the result to obtain a comprehensive relationship among the variables. The analysis of the driving power and dependence power of these variables is carried out using these methods(Kant and Singh, 2009). Our study here tells us that the top management’s commitment is the major force behind the successful implementation of TPM in any organisation.
