Peripheral Nerve Locator

Paraesthesias are the traditional sign of successful nerve localization, but the use of electrical stimulation has gained popularity with the advent of improved equipment. A low current electrical impulse applied to a peripheral nerve produces stimulation of motor fibres and identifies the proximity of the nerve without actual contact or patient discomfort. Its use may reduce the chance of nerve injury
