Millennials and the Workplace:Challenges for Architecting the Organizations of Tomorrow

Since its release in the year 2012, this book has been reviewed by a few scholars and at its core, it reiterates the significance of ‘change’ in the contemporary work organizations and culture. The authors of the book pragmatically and empirically evaluate the perceptions of ‘Millennials’ (ideally defined as the employees born between 1980 and 2000) for adapting in today’s organizations and flourishing in them. The essential groundwork as to why millennials (inclusive of a definition) and their work ethics were targeted has already been covered by some earlier reviewers of this book (cf. Bathini, 2012; Parikh, 2013; Singh, 2013; Khan, 2013 & Krishnan, 2013). At the outset, reflecting and capturing the theoretical principles of natural selection and adaptation, coupled with own consultancy experiences, the authors propose a framework that helps emanate the idea presented in the book.
