The book, Organizational Behavior, by Nahavandi, Denhardt, Denhardt and Aristigueta is a well-written textbook aimed at future managers embracing significant issues such as leadership, vision and innovation, and the global society. It emphasizes on understanding and relating concepts to real world scenarios through creative and innovative thinking. It attempts to provide self-learning through cases, critical thinking and real life situations as how organizations, groups, and individuals interact to contribute to organizational success and achievement. All four authors of the book are accomplished academicians and have written a number of other books previously. At the beginning of the book, the authors addressed that this book has a distinctive “action orientation”, in the sense that they consider organizational behavior as a practical discipline that enables us to act effectively and responsibly. The book is divided into four parts. The first part of the book gives a brief introduction about organizational behavior (history, trends, and ethics), the second, third and fourth parts focus on individual behavior, team process and organizational context respectively.
