In the era of globalization, technology plays a pivotal role in different operations of business. In the early of 1990s there was transformation in the role of HRM functions which was dominated by the use of information technology. At this juncture the authors of this book felt of sharing their knowledge and expertise in the field of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) which was much needed to cater the reader to enhance their knowledge and awareness regarding this field. Two of the eminent personalities who contributed immensely for this text are Michael J Kavanagh, (Professor Emeritus of Management at the State University of New York at Albany) an HRIS Veteran and Mohan Thite (Associate Professor at Griffith Business School, Griffith University, Australia) an HRM, HRIS expert with plethora of experience in industry and academia. This book begins with explanations on building of HRIS, hence referred as building blocks for the HRIS house and then followed by explanations on filling of the houses.
