The Concepts, cultural and media Imperialism have been used to describe the influence of the western (developed) nations on the developing nations around the world. The two concepts have generated prominent debates from media scholars of different backgrounds with some scholars arguing that the globalisation of the media is way of making different cultures compatible and others arguing it is detrimental to the developing nations who are at the receiving end. The paper first examines the stand of different scholars on the theoretical conjunctures before taking a stand.
