This is the third book in the Easy Money series by Vivek Kaul. The first book dealt with the initial stages of development of the global financial system until the first world war. The growth of the system from the first world war to the subprime crisis of 2008-09 was covered in the second book. The third books closes the trilogy and focusses on the underlying reasons and events leading to the crisis. The response of the governments and the central banks to manage the crisis is discussed in depth along with its implications for the future growth of the world economy. Global financial linkages between the USA and its creditor countries are highlighted. Benefits accruing to the USA due to the internationally accepted role of the US Dollar as the reserve currency are also discussed.
