Effect of Surface Tension on Bead Profile formation in Flux Cored Arc Welding

A two dimensional weld pool model based on the pressure balance has been used to predict the weld pool height and reinforced area for rutile type flux cored arc welding. The results reveled that the influence of interfacial (surface) tension force on bead shape formation is approximately 25%. At higher current levels effect of these forces are insignificant.
