This January 1986 issue of the Indian Welding Journal announces its 18th Anniversary. We wish you, dear readers, a very happy participative and prosperous year.

Any change is a challenge. From the beginning of the last year, you have perhaps noticed that the IWJ has changed progressively. From the two column text presentation, it changed to a three column presentation to improve the space utilisation and reduce the cost of production. We tried to introduce a number of new features like Reader's Card for your participation, Standards & Codes for your awareness; Product News for the Industrial Corporate Members to promote their products&services at no cost and also this particular feature- From the Editor's Desk to establish a direct communication link to all of you.
