The drawing has always been the fundamental instrument for the mechanical production. It is therefore also used for the flame cutting process as the carrier of information. For this reason the oldest stationary cutting machines had already been equipped with a table for positioning a drawing or a template which had been a 1:1 scale picture of the workpiece to be manufactured.
