Just as this editorial is being written, a statement has come from the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh admitting that the present financial crisis has affected our economy and the shrink in International credit will have adverse effect on our corporates and banks. The Prime Minister said this while addressing a meeting of the heads of top corporates to review the state of the economy in the face of the global meltdown.
