The study identifies the need of inclusion of nuclear energy into the energy grid for the clean environment as well as making use of the thorium available in India to produce power at viable cost. The study also insists the need of preventive measures to be taken during the construction, training of the employees and the performance of radiological survey including the analyzing samples like air, water, milk, vegetation etc.,. The specific role of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd in the stages of the project execution and the role of the National Disaster Management Authority in the safety aspects are also analysed.
