The Economics of Resin Tapping in East Almora Forest Division

The paper discusses the cost incurred on resin tapping in East Almora Division, U.P., in the year 1975. The costs are split into 14 cost-heads and is studied with varying yield from 1.0 Q. per 100 channels to 40 Q. per 100 channels. To these costs, the cost of timber wasted is added to arrive at the total cost of resin. Conclusions have been drawn regarding amount of penalty or bonus to be paid to a resin mate. Study have been done for locating the marginal areas in which resin tapping can be done.
